Those of us in high impact settings are often trained to conceal, avoid or disconnect from our distress. However, disengaging from vital aspects of our emotional experience, consciously or not, may have unintended consequences. Our work together is laser focused on unpacking your unique challenges and relieving the internal stumbling blocks that make it difficult for you to move forward.

Breakthrough Coaching focuses on helping clients to move through the distress or emotional blocks that make it difficult to access the experiences and outcomes that are important to them.
Breakthrough Coaching is a short-term, intensive coaching practice, incorporating 90-120 minute sessions, on a weekly or twice weekly basis. Coaching duration is typically brief, lasting between 1-3 months.

I conduct 90-120 minute coaching sessions virtually on zoom. We will schedule a 20 minute complimentary consultation where you can briefly share your goals and I can answer any specific questions. You’re welcome to send me a detailed email in advance of our introductory consultation.

Clients can expect pointed, hyper-focused dialogue and questions, geared towards clarifying pain points that have become significant stumbling blocks.
Sessions focus on relieving distress so that clients gain a deep understanding that it is possible to move from intense emotional experiences (e.g., shame, panic, worry, hurt) to a sense of well-being and competence within a brief period of time. The aim is to lay neural pathways for effective and efficient emotional self-regulation. This work enables clients to begin experiencing their minds as a refuge and a source of strength and support instead of an enemy or barrier to their goals.
Breakthrough Coaching is not for everyone. While clients experience some sessions as supportive and emotionally relieving, many sessions may require clients to engage in the very challenging work of facing aspects of themselves that they may have avoided or ignored in the past.

Clients bring their current goals and challenges into the session, typically focused on one specific aspect of their lives.
Then we focus on areas of heightened emotion, blindspots, or avoided places, which are generating stress and distress.
Finally, together, we apply techniques to calm the amygdala, neutralize distress, and forge new neural pathways towards healthy emotional self-regulation.
At times, clients will be encouraged to engage in practices in between sessions to facilitate the integration and generalization of the changework conducted within our sessions.

Breakthrough Coaching focuses on supporting highly motivated, psychologically engaged individuals who are experiencing targeted challenges or have a focused area where they would like to experience growth. Therapy focuses on the important work of diagnosing and treating mental illness. Breakthrough Coaching is not a substitute for therapy.
